New York City Meditation Classes
May/June 2008 Schedule
All are welcome!
Beginners are welcome at all of the classes.
The classes are FREE.
Please join us in learning to meditate, the antidote to a world gone mad, where time seems to be moving faster every week, and in which we know we can find a bright and beautiful life.
Remember, what you focus on you become, and in meditation we focus on the best of all things—enlightenment.
In each class we will learn several meditation techniques, and have a chance to practice.
F/V, D, 6, R/W trains all stop nearby.
All classes include periods of meditation practice.

CLASS DESCRIPTION and DATES:
Thu May 8—How to Meditate (7pm—8pm, 1 hour)
We will learn what meditation is, how to meditate, and then practice several techniques, including yantra meditation and meditation to music.
Thu May 15—Places of Power (7pm—8pm, 1 hour)
There are places on the earth that are different, where it is easier to change who we are and what we are aware of. They may be remote places in nature, or just a spot in New York City. In this class we will learn what a place of power is, how to find one, and how to visit it.
Thu May 22—Tantra (7pm - 8pm, 1 hour)
Tantra is the yoga for this age, for this time. Tantra is the reconciliation of opposites. Tantra is seeing God in all things, all experiences, all states of mind.
Thu May 29—Living and Working in the World (7pm—8pm, 1 hour)
One of the greatest challenges facing the meditator in today's world is creating and maintaining a practice while in the midst of New York City. How do you do that? This class will cover specific techniques and approaches to doing just that.
Thu June 5—The Tibetan Rebirth Process (7pm—8pm, 1 hour)
Tibetan yoga and secret doctrine is a spiritual pathway in which we use everything in our lives as part of our practice. This practice involves learning how to draw the knowledge from past lives forwards into this life, and to then move one's awareness through many more lifetimes of evolution. The fast path.
Thu June 12—Meditation Intensive (7pm - 8pm, 1 hour)
More meditation! We will practice in several meditation sessions, and talk about topics from American Buddhism and how to actually establish a viable, powerful daily meditation practice.
